The Taoiseach, Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D., welcomes the award to the Corrs of an honorary MBE by her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, recognising their musical talents and also their charitable work which has raised money for Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, victims of the Omagh Bombings and other charities. The Taoiseach said, "I am delighted for the Corrs. They have been exceptional ambassadors for this country and have managed to combine their busy musical work schedule with the time to do good work for others. I am happy for them that this has been acknowledged."
