On 21st June the band performed at the opening ceremony of the 2003 Special Olympics in Croke Park, Dublin.

Also appearing were U2, Samantha Mumba, Ronan Tynan and Patrick Kielty, who acted as Master of Ceremonies. Among the other highlights was the coming together of the largest Riverdance group ever assembled, one hundred Riverdancers, drawn from companies worldwide and from Irish dance schools.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were President Mary McAleese, Special Olympics Founder, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and former South African President Nelson Mandela.
